When God Arises
Psalm 68:1–3
Pastor Abraham Adesayo
"Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered: let them also that hate Him flee before Him."
ATAP — All Things Are Possible
Every first Saturday of the month, Christian Fellowship For All Nations (CFAN Chicago) gathers for our ATAP (All Things Are Possible) Prayer Meeting — a time dedicated to seeking God's face, building our faith, and believing Him for breakthroughs that only He can bring.
During this month's ATAP service, Pastor Abraham delivered a powerful message titled When God Arises. Drawing from Psalm 68:1–3, he reminded us that the presence and intervention of God change every situation. When God arises, the impossible becomes possible, long-standing battles come to an end, and His people experience victory that only He can give.
As you reflect on this message, be encouraged to hold firmly to God's promises. No matter what you may be facing today, your situation is never beyond His power.
What Happens When God Arises?
Throughout Scripture, we repeatedly see that whenever God intervenes, situations change. His presence brings victory where there was defeat, hope where there was despair, and restoration where there had been loss. Pastor Abraham highlighted several things that happen when God arises.
Opposition Will Dissolve
The enemy may appear determined, but no opposition can withstand the power of God.
Pharaoh's army pursued Israel with confidence, believing victory belonged to them. Yet when God arose on behalf of His people, the Red Sea became their deliverance and the enemy's destruction.
Every opposition standing against God's purpose for your life must bow before His authority.
The enemy said, "I will pursue, I will overtake" — but God arose, and the sea covered them.
Conspiracies Will Fail
Not every battle is visible. Some attacks are planned in secret through evil counsel, hidden agendas, and spiritual opposition.
God's Word assures us that every conspiracy formed against His children without His approval will ultimately fail. Human plans cannot overturn God's purpose.
Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces... Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought.
Unfavorable Situations Are Reversed
God is the God of divine reversals.
What appears final is never beyond His ability to change. Esther and the Jewish people experienced a remarkable turnaround when God intervened. The day intended for destruction became a day of victory.
God still turns mourning into rejoicing and setbacks into testimonies.
The very day the enemies of the Jews hoped to overpower them was reversed — the Jews gained the upper hand.
Chains Are Broken
Many people carry burdens that cannot be seen with the natural eye. Some struggle with fear, discouragement, spiritual bondage, or circumstances that seem impossible to escape.
When God's power is revealed, every chain can be broken. He delivers those who call upon Him and brings them into liberty.
They cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He saved them from their distress. He brought them out of darkness and broke away their chains.
The Strongman Is Brought to Justice
No power is greater than God's authority.
Every force that exalts itself against God's purpose has an appointed end. The Lord remains the righteous Judge over every situation, and He is able to remove every obstacle standing in the way of His divine plan.
What man had feared and what had ruled through terror came to its end at the appointed time by God's hand.
Dry Seasons Come to an End
Periods of waiting do not last forever.
Whether the dryness is spiritual, financial, emotional, or physical, God is able to bring refreshing where there has been emptiness.
He makes rivers flow in dry places and causes new life to spring forth where hope once seemed lost.
I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys... that they may see and know that the hand of the Lord hath done this.
Losses Are Recovered
Our God is a God of restoration.
Whatever has been lost through delay, disappointment, failure, or hardship is never beyond God's ability to restore. His restoration is often greater than what was lost.
Turn to the stronghold, ye prisoners of hope... I will render double unto you. For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion.
Joseph's Style of Elevation Manifests
One divine encounter can change the course of a person's life.
Joseph went from the prison to the palace because God had prepared the moment for his elevation. His promotion was not the result of human influence but divine favor and purpose.
God still lifts His people at the appointed time.
Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon... And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?
Living in the Expectation of God's Intervention
Every believer will encounter situations that require more than human effort. Those moments call us to trust God's power instead of our own understanding.
As children of God, we must continue to pray, remain steadfast in faith, and stand upon His promises. The same God who fought for Israel, preserved Esther, restored His people, and elevated Joseph is still working today.
- Keep your faith anchored in God's Word
- Remain steadfast in prayer
- Refuse to surrender to fear
- Expect divine intervention
- Believe that God is still able to do the impossible
The God who arose for them is the same God who will arise for you.

When God Arises
No matter what stands before you today, remember that nothing is impossible with God.
The battle may seem intense, but God's power is greater. The delay may have been long, but His timing is always perfect. The loss may have been painful, but He is still the God of restoration.
Take time this week to declare God's promises over your life and pray with confidence that He is working, even when you cannot yet see the outcome.
Reflect on these questions:
- Where do I need God to arise in my life?
- Am I trusting His promises more than my circumstances?
- Have I continued praying with expectation?
- What impossible situation am I believing God to change?
Keep trusting Him.
Keep praying.
Keep believing.
When God arises, every impossible situation must give way.
