Weeping May Endure
for a Night
Luke 6:21 · Psalm 30:5
Pastor Abraham Adesayo
Dear Church Family,
Some Sundays arrive already wrapped in worship. This past Sunday was one of them — a morning of double celebration, as we gathered not only to give thanks to God for His goodness, but to honour the gift of another year in the life of our Pastor Abraham.
With hearts full and the atmosphere alive with gratitude, Pastor Abraham rose to bring a word — brief in length, but rich in truth. A word perfectly suited for a day when we were already counting God's faithfulness. Because the same God who has been faithful year after year is the same God who holds every difficult season in His hands.
That was the heart of Sunday's message. No matter what season you are walking through, God has already determined its end. Difficult seasons are never permanent — and His promises never fail.
Weeping May Endure for a Night
Life is filled with seasons. There are moments of joy and there are moments of sorrow. There are seasons when prayers seem delayed, burdens become heavy, and the future appears uncertain.
Yet God's Word reminds us that sorrow does not have the final say.
"Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning."
The night may seem long, but it will not last forever. God's promise is that joy is coming.
The Night Is Real
Jesus never promised a life without trials. He prepared His followers to expect difficulties while assuring them that He has already overcome the world.
The presence of hardship is not evidence that God has abandoned His children. Difficult seasons are part of life's journey, but they never cancel God's purpose.
When the night comes, remain steadfast in your faith.
The Night Has a Deadline
There is a time to weep and a time to laugh. Every season appointed by God has an ending.
Your present challenge has an expiration date known by God. No night continues forever. Every period of sorrow eventually gives way to a new season because God controls times and seasons.
Never build your future around your current pain. Trust God's timing.
The Sunrise Is Certain
God gives beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.
God specializes in replacing grief with joy and despair with hope. The sunrise is not based on human effort — it arrives because God has ordained it.
Likewise, your season of restoration will come according to God's divine purpose. Hold on to His promises even when you cannot yet see the evidence.
God's Grace Changes Everything
The sufferings of this present time cannot be compared with the glory that shall be revealed.
God can turn mourning into dancing.
Grace does not deny the existence of pain. Grace carries us through the pain until God's appointed breakthrough arrives.
The tears of yesterday can become tomorrow's testimony because God is still working behind the scenes.
Reflect on These Questions
- Are you allowing your current situation to define your faith?
- Do you believe that God has already appointed an end to your season of weeping?
- Are you looking beyond today's challenges toward the joy that God has promised?
God's timing is always perfect. The darkest night cannot prevent the sunrise that He has ordained.
Encouragement for the Week
No matter what season you are walking through, refuse to lose hope. The night may feel long, but it is not permanent.
God has not forgotten you. He sees every tear, hears every prayer, and remains faithful to every promise He has spoken.
This week, choose faith over fear. Choose praise over discouragement. Continue trusting the One who turns mourning into dancing and replaces sorrow with joy.
- Am I choosing faith over fear this week?
- Am I trusting God's timing even while I wait?
- Am I speaking praise over my season instead of discouragement?
Your morning is coming.
