If Your Blessing Depends
Solely on the Supernatural
Isaiah 14:24 · Romans 9:6–11

Dear Church Family,
There are blessings that can come through human effort, opportunity, relationships, and natural circumstances. But there are also situations where no human ability can produce the outcome you are believing God for.
When your blessing depends solely on the supernatural power of God, your responsibility is not to manufacture the miracle. Your responsibility is to position yourself in faith, obedience, prayer, and trust.
In this message, Pastor Abraham reminded us that when God has determined that something must happen by His power, we must learn to trust Him completely.
When Your Blessing Depends on the Supernatural
God has the ability to accomplish what human strength cannot accomplish.
Sarah's story is a powerful example. What God promised concerning Abraham and Sarah could not be fulfilled through ordinary human ability. Isaac came because God performed what only God could perform.
The Lord visited Sarah and did for her what He had promised. At the appointed time, Sarah conceived and gave birth to Isaac.
The same principle can be seen in the lives of Isaac and Rebekah. Rebekah was barren, but Isaac did not abandon God's promise. He prayed to the Lord on behalf of his wife, and the Lord answered his prayer.
Isaac prayed to the Lord for his wife, because she was barren. And the Lord was entreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.
Rachel also experienced a situation that required divine intervention. After years of waiting, the Bible says that God remembered Rachel, listened to her, and opened her womb.
And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb.
These accounts remind us that there are times when the answer cannot come from human strength. It must come from God.
How to Position Yourself
When your breakthrough depends on God's supernatural intervention, how should you position yourself?
Continue to Be Your Original Self
Do not become someone else because you are waiting for God to move.
Continue to walk in the character God has given you. Continue to love. Continue to serve. Continue to show hospitality. Continue to do what is right even when you are waiting for your answer.
Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
Your season of waiting should not cause you to abandon the person God has called you to be.
Remain faithful to God in the process.
Do Not Try to Help God Fulfill His Promise
If God designed your breakthrough to come strictly through His power, you must avoid trying to help Him produce it.
When we become impatient with God's process, we can create alternatives that God never asked us to create.
Sarah's decision to give Hagar to Abraham is a biblical example. God had already given Abraham a promise, but Sarah attempted to produce the promised result through another means.
Sarai said unto Abram, "Behold now, the Lord hath restrained me from bearing... go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her."
When we try to help God fulfill His promises, we don't birth a miracle; we manufacture an Ishmael that we will eventually have to deal with.— Charles Stanley
The lesson is clear: do not allow impatience to make you manufacture what God has promised to provide.
Maintain Your Faith in God's Ability
If your victory depends entirely on supernatural intervention, maintain your faith in the ability of God to perform.
The existence of a problem does not mean God has lost His ability to solve it.
Hannah experienced deep pain because she was unable to have children. Yet she took her burden to God in prayer.
Hannah rose up... and prayed unto the Lord, and wept sore, and vowed a vow.
Faith does not deny the reality of the problem; it just refuses to grant the problem the final say over God's ability.— A.W. Tozer
You may see the problem, but keep your eyes on God's ability. You may recognize the limitation, but do not place limitations on God.
Understand That God Is Working According to His Purpose
God is not obligated to fulfill our personal ambitions. His purpose remains central.
Sometimes we want God to accomplish something because it fits our plans. But Scripture reminds us that God works according to His purpose.
All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.
God is not a cosmic vending machine deployed to fulfill our ambitions. He is a sovereign King inviting us to align with His eternal decree.— Ravi Zacharias
The question is not only, "God, will You give me what I want?" The deeper question is, "God, am I willing to trust Your purpose and Your plan?"
Stop Forcing Outcomes and Trust God's Timing
If your breakthrough requires a divine miracle, stop forcing outcomes and trust God's timing.
One of the greatest challenges of faith is waiting when you cannot see how God will accomplish what He has promised.
Abraham and Sarah had to wait for the fulfillment of God's promise. Their story teaches us that God's timing may require patience, but His ability never fails.
Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age.
God is never late, but He is rarely early. He operates on a clock of divine destiny, not human urgency.— Tony Evans
Your urgency does not change God's timing. Your waiting does not cancel God's ability.
When God has ordained the outcome, trust Him to bring it to pass in His time.
Pray for Each Other in Marriage
Pastor Abraham also emphasized the importance of prayer between husbands and wives.
Marriage will face trials, pressures, and situations that require more than human wisdom. Husband and wife must learn to stand together in prayer.
Isaac prayed for his wife Rebekah, and God answered (Genesis 25:20–21).
The most powerful posture a husband and wife can take against the trials of life is not back-to-back in conflict, but knees-to-the-floor in prayer.— Unknown
When circumstances become difficult, do not allow the pressure to turn you against each other. Pray together. Stand together. Trust God together.
God Must Remain Your Source
You must stop elevating any person of God into the position of your source.
God may use people to encourage you, teach you, guide you, or bless you. But the person is not your source. Your source is God.
I am the Lord: that is my name: and my glory will I not give unto another.
If you rely on a man to bless you, you are limited to what that man can handle. If you rely on God, you have access to what the universe cannot contain.— Unknown
People are instruments. God is the source. Do not transfer to a person the confidence and dependence that belong to God alone.
Continue to Serve Where God Has Called You
While waiting for your breakthrough, continue to serve in the capacity God has called you.
Do not stop serving because you are waiting. Do not withdraw because you have not yet seen the answer. Continue doing what God has instructed you to do.
The early church provides an example of people continuing in their assigned service. In Luke 1, Zechariah was serving in the temple when God's supernatural intervention came into his life.
While he executed the priest's office before God in the order of his course... there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord.
The location of your greatest miracle is almost always the location of your daily obedience.— Unknown
Your responsibility is obedience. God remains responsible for what only His power can accomplish.
Practical Ways to Position Yourself
- Remain yourself. Do not abandon godly character because you are waiting.
- Do not help God. Refuse to manufacture an outcome through human impatience.
- Keep your faith in God's ability. Your circumstances do not determine what God can do.
- Trust God's purpose. Let His will remain greater than your personal ambition.
- Trust His timing. Do not force an outcome God has not released.
- Pray with your spouse. Face difficult seasons together on your knees.
- Keep God as your source. Appreciate people God uses, but never replace God with people.
- Continue serving. Remain faithful in the assignment God has given you.
Are You Positioned for What God Wants to Do?
When God is the only one who can produce the outcome you are waiting for, your greatest responsibility is to remain positioned in faith and obedience.
Do not allow waiting to change your character. Do not allow pressure to weaken your faith. Do not allow impatience to make you manufacture an answer. Do not allow people to replace God as your source. And do not stop serving because you have not yet seen your breakthrough.
God knows what He has promised. God knows the timing. God knows the purpose. Your assignment is to trust Him and remain faithful.
Let God Do What Only God Can Do
If what you are believing God for requires supernatural intervention, remember that you do not have to manufacture what only God can produce.
Stay faithful while you wait. Keep praying. Keep serving. Keep believing in God's ability. Trust His purpose and His timing.
Ask yourself:
- Am I trying to help God produce what He has promised?
- Is my faith still anchored in God's ability?
- Have I allowed a person to become my source instead of God?
- Am I continuing to serve faithfully while I wait?
When God is your source, you can trust Him with the outcome. Stay faithful. Keep praying. Trust God's timing.
