ISA 7:14
This Sunday, Pastor Abraham drew our attention away from the decorations and traditions of the season and brought us back to how God Himself views Christmas.
Christmas is not first a cultural event. It is a divine action. A deliberate moment in God’s eternal plan. Through Scripture, we were reminded that Christmas reveals God’s heart, His justice, His sacrifice, and His purpose for humanity.
How God Sees Christmas
The Fulfillment of a Long-Standing Promise
Isaiah 7:14 | John 3:16 | 2 Corinthians 9:15
Christmas is God keeping His word.
What He promised through the prophets, He fulfilled in Jesus.
The birth of Christ is God giving His greatest gift to humanity, freely and completely.
Christmas reminds you that God does not forget His promises.
He fulfills them in His time.
The Foundation of Our Adoption as Sons
- Galatians 4:4–5
Jesus was born so we could belong.
Through Christ, we moved from strangers to sons and daughters.
Christmas marks the moment heaven opened the door for us to be adopted into God’s family.
You are not an outsider.
You are chosen.
A Clear Picture of Sacrifice and Humility
Philippians 2:5–8 (NLT)
God did not save humanity from a distance.
He humbled Himself.
He stepped into flesh.
He chose obedience over comfort.
Christmas shows us that true greatness is found in humility and surrender to God’s will.
🔹 A Display of God’s Justice and Righteousness
Philippians 2:7
God did not ignore sin.
He addressed it fully through Christ.
Christmas reveals a God who is both loving and just, merciful and righteous.
Salvation came at a cost—and God paid it Himself.
🔹 A Reminder of Why Jesus Was Born
1 Timothy 1:15–16 (NLT)
Jesus came to save sinners.
Not the perfect.
Not the self-righteous.
But the lost.
Christmas calls us back to this mission.
To remember why Christ came.
And to live with that purpose in view.
Final Reflection
Christmas is not just about celebration.
It is about revelation.
It reveals:
- God’s faithfulness
- God’s love
- God’s justice
- God’s purpose
This season, don’t just celebrate the birth of Christ.
Live in alignment with why He came.
Encouragement for the Week
This week, see Christmas through God’s eyes.
Receive His gift with gratitude.
Respond with humility.
Live on purpose.
You were not just given a season to celebrate.
You were given a Savior to follow.
You are not called to admire the manger only.
You are called to live out the mission behind it.
Ask yourself:
How is my life reflecting the gift God gave?
Where do I need to walk in humility like Christ?
Who is God calling me to reach with His love?
Step into this week with renewed focus.
God kept His promise.
God gave His Son.
God is still saving lives.
Let Christmas shape how you live, not just how you celebrate.
