Pastor Abraham’s message, Can You See It?, explored the importance of spiritual vision in the life of faith. Through Scripture, we were reminded that what we see in our hearts shapes how we live and respond to circumstances.

God calls His people to focus on His promises and allow His Word to form the vision that guides their lives.

He reminded us that God gave us more than physical sight. He gave us the ability to perceive His plans and recognize what He is doing in our lives.

Many people look at life and only see circumstances. But God calls His people to see through the lens of His Word. Throughout Scripture, God often asked a simple question:

“What do you see?”

Because what you see inwardly will shape how you live outwardly.

Your vision determines your focus.

Your focus determines your direction.

When God speaks, He is not only giving information.

He is giving your faith a picture to hold on to.

The message challenged us to develop spiritual vision.

Not just hearing God’s promises.

But learning to see them clearly in our hearts.

✨The Importance of Mental Pictures

🔹It Creates a Point of Focus

Proverbs 29:18 | Genesis 15:5

Vision gives direction.

Without vision, people drift.

They react to circumstances instead of moving toward purpose.

When God spoke to Abraham, He told him to look at the stars.

God gave him something to see.

Not just a promise to hear.

A picture to focus on.

What picture is guiding your life today?

🔹 It Gives Substance to Your Hope

Hebrews 11:1–2

Faith is not vague.

Faith holds a picture of what God has promised.

Before something appears in reality,

it first becomes clear in your spirit.

Hope grows stronger when you can see what God has said.

Faith builds from that picture.

🔹It Overcomes Sensory Evidence

Judges 6:12–13 | Isaiah 43:18–19

Gideon looked at his situation and saw weakness.

God looked at Gideon and saw a mighty warrior.

Circumstances speak loudly.

But God’s vision speaks louder.

If you only believe what your senses report,

you may miss what God is doing.

God often begins new things while the old situation still looks the same.

Can you see beyond the moment you are in?

🔹It Prepares You for Possession

Joshua 6:1–2 | 2 Kings 2:9–10

Before Jericho fell, God declared victory.

“I have given you the city.”

The walls were still standing.

But God declared the outcome first.

Vision prepares your heart to receive what God plans to give.

Elisha saw Elijah taken into heaven.

Because he saw it, he received the double portion.

What you see often determines what you receive.

✨The Importance of Mental Pictures

🔹Biblical Meditation

Psalm 19:14 | Joshua 1:8

Meditation means spending time with God’s Word.

You think about it.

You repeat it.

You allow it to shape your thinking.

The more time you spend in Scripture, the clearer God’s vision becomes.

Vision grows where the Word is present.

🔹Write the Vision Down

Habakkuk 2:2–3

God instructed Habakkuk to write the vision clearly.

Not hidden.

Not complicated.

Clear enough to read while running.

Writing the vision clarifies what you believe.

It also reminds you when waiting feels long.

God said the vision may seem slow.

But it will arrive at the right time.

🔹Develop an Imagination Diet

Philippians 4:8

Your mind feeds on what you allow into it.

What you watch.

What you listen to.

What you think about repeatedly.

If your mind feeds on fear, doubt will grow.

If your mind feeds on truth, faith will grow.

Guard what fills your imagination.

Your thoughts shape the pictures in your heart.

🔹Build a Testimony Pantry

Deuteronomy 4:9 | Psalm 77:11–12 | Psalm 143:5–6

David often looked back at what God had done.

He remembered victories.

He remembered deliverance.

Past testimonies strengthen present faith.

When you remember God’s works, your confidence grows.

The same God who moved before

is still moving today.

Keep a record of His faithfulness.

One day you will need to read it again.

📝 Final Reflection

God often begins with a question.

“What do you see?”

Not what do you fear.

Not what do others say.

What do you see through the lens of His Word?

Vision directs your focus.

Vision strengthens your faith.

Vision prepares you for what God plans to give.

Ask God to sharpen your spiritual sight this week.

Let His Word shape the picture inside you.

✨ Encouragement for the Week

What you see matters.

If you only focus on circumstances,

your faith will shrink.

If you focus on God’s promises,

your faith will grow.

Ask yourself this week:

  • What picture is shaping my thinking?

  • Am I focusing on problems or promises?

  • Am I seeing life through God’s Word?

Let God’s promises shape the picture in your heart.
